  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 package Oreo cookies Reserve half for layering and crush the rest
  • 1 cup butter, melted Ensure fully melted for proper mixing
  • 2 cups milk Low-fat works but full-fat provides richer taste
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Optional, for additional sweetness
  • 1 container whipped topping Optional, for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. Layer half of the Oreo cookies in the bottom of the dish.
  4. In a bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and milk until well mixed.
  5. Pour the batter over the layer of Oreos in the baking dish.
  6. Crush the remaining Oreo cookies and sprinkle them on top of the batter.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool slightly before serving.
Serving
  1. Cut the cake into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
  2. Add a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped topping for extra creaminess.

Notes

For crisper cookie bits, crush Oreos by hand or pulse lightly in a bag. If the top browns too fast, cover loosely with foil for the last 10 minutes. Store cooled cake wrapped or in an airtight container.
