Teriyaki Chicken Wraps

Ingredients
  

Chicken and Sauce
  • 2 pieces boneless (skinless chicken breasts) Use fresh chicken breasts for best results.
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce Store-bought teriyaki sauce is acceptable.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the chicken.
Wrap Ingredients
  • 4 large flour tortillas or wraps Warming the tortillas makes them easier to fold.
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots Freshly shredded for crunch.
  • 1/2 cup shredded red cabbage Adds color and texture.
  • 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce Can substitute with other leafy greens.
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise Optional; for added creaminess.

Method
 

Cooking the Chicken
  1. Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season chicken breasts lightly with salt and pepper, then cook for 5–7 minutes per side or until fully cooked.
  3. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.
Preparing the Chicken and Veggies
  1. Thinly slice the cooked chicken and place it in a bowl.
  2. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken and toss until evenly coated.
  3. While the chicken rests, shred the carrots and cabbage, chop the romaine, and warm the tortillas slightly.
Assembling the Wraps
  1. Lay a tortilla flat and spread a little mayonnaise if using.
  2. Add a portion of teriyaki chicken, carrots, cabbage, and lettuce.
  3. Fold in the sides and roll tightly.
Serving the Wraps
  1. Slice in half for easier serving and enjoy immediately!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave before serving. For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in teriyaki sauce for at least 30 minutes prior to cooking.
