  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or flank)
  • 1 cup homemade queso sauce
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Chopped cilantro (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Method
 

Cooking the Steak
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season steak with salt, pepper, and taco seasoning.
  3. Sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked to desired doneness.
  4. Remove the steak from the skillet, allow it to rest for a few minutes, then slice it thinly.
Combining Ingredients
  1. In the same skillet, add the cooked rice and queso sauce, stirring to combine and heat through.
Serving
  1. Serve the seasoned rice topped with sliced steak and garnish with chopped cilantro.
  2. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. To reheat, warm in the microwave until hot. Feel free to customize with extra veggies or spices.
