Preparation
- In a tall glass or a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh berries and mint leaves with the simple syrup and lime juice. Muddle just enough to release the juices and oils.
- Fill a tall serving glass with ice cubes.
- Strain the muddled berry mixture over the ice, using a fine-mesh strainer to catch the seeds and pulp.
- Top the glass with chilled ginger ale or sparkling water.
- Gently stir to combine.
- Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint, a few whole berries, and a lime wheel on the rim.
Notes
For a herbal twist, replace mint with basil or thyme. Use frozen berries if fresh aren’t available; just thaw slightly before muddling.
