Ingredients

For the Sparkling Berry Fizz
  • 1/2 cup mixed fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
  • 5-6 leaves fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup (or agave nectar)
  • 1/2 lime Juice of half a lime
  • Ice cubes Ice cubes
  • 1 cup chilled ginger ale or sparkling water
  • as needed Fresh berries and lime wheel for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. In a tall glass or a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh berries and mint leaves with the simple syrup and lime juice. Muddle just enough to release the juices and oils.
  2. Fill a tall serving glass with ice cubes.
  3. Strain the muddled berry mixture over the ice, using a fine-mesh strainer to catch the seeds and pulp.
  4. Top the glass with chilled ginger ale or sparkling water.
  5. Gently stir to combine.
  6. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint, a few whole berries, and a lime wheel on the rim.

Notes

For a herbal twist, replace mint with basil or thyme. Use frozen berries if fresh aren’t available; just thaw slightly before muddling.
