Filling
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  2. Slowly pour the wet mixture over the cake mix and pecans. Do not stir—this is a dump cake!
Baking
  1. Place in the oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.
Serving
  1. Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Add chocolate chips for a chocolate-pecan twist, or spice it up with a pinch of nutmeg or allspice. For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free cake mix.
