Preparation
- Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides for easy removal. Lightly grease the parchment with cooking spray or additional butter.
Cooking
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the peanut butter and butter. Stir continuously until completely melted and smoothly combined, approximately 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat immediately.
- Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, about one cup at a time, stirring vigorously after each addition until the mixture is thick and glossy with no lumps.
Setting
- Pour the fudge mixture into your prepared pan and spread evenly into all corners. Ensure the surface is smooth and level.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until the fudge is firm to the touch. Lift the fudge from the pan using the parchment overhang and cut into 1-inch squares.
Notes
For added flair, you can melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the set fudge, or use crunchy peanut butter for texture. Consider other variations like salted caramel or maple.
