Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, peanut butter, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well combined.
- Fold in the chopped peanut butter cups and chocolate chips (if using). The batter will be thick but creamy.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle additional chopped peanut butter cups on top for extra indulgence.
Baking
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey. Avoid overbaking to keep it fudgy.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Notes
For a crunchier texture, sprinkle crushed peanuts or pretzels on top before baking. Make it gluten-free by using a gluten-free chocolate cake mix. Add a swirl of caramel by drizzling caramel sauce over the batter before baking. Use chunky peanut butter for extra texture.
