  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for different flavor.
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained Can add other beans if preferred.
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp chili powder Can be adjusted for spiciness.
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is soft.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth, chili powder, and cumin.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat and let it cook for 20 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper according to taste before serving.

Notes

This dish is delicious on its own or served with cornbread. Top with shredded cheese and sour cream for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
