  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar Apple cider vinegar can be used as an alternative.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes Optional for added spice.
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Toast lightly if desired.
  • to taste sliced green onions For topping.
  • to serve kimchi Optional for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Pour the sauce over the beef and stir to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Serving
  1. Toast the hamburger buns lightly if desired.
  2. Serve the bulgogi beef mixture on the buns. Top with sliced green onions and kimchi if you like.

Notes

Enjoy with crunchy pickles, a fresh salad, or sweet potato fries. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave.
