  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined Ensure they are fresh or properly thawed.
  • 1 pound chicken or turkey sausage, sliced into coins Use your preferred type of sausage.
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets For best flavor, use fresh broccoli.
Sauce Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Divided into two tablespoons for cooking.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic adds the best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce For gluten-free, use tamari.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch Optional for thickening sauce.
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes Optional for a little heat.
  • to taste Salt and pepper

  • for garnish Chopped green onions

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch until smooth.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Add the sliced chicken or turkey sausage and cook until browned, then remove from the pan.
  2. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the broccoli florets; sauté for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
  3. Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until opaque and pink.
  4. Return the sausage to the pan and stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant.
  5. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the mixture and stir to coat, cooking until the sauce thickens slightly and glazes everything evenly.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat until heated through. Adjust honey and soy sauce according to taste preference for sweetness and saltiness. For extra heat, increase the amount of crushed red pepper flakes.
