Preparation
  1. In a large pot, combine all ingredients.
  2. Simmer on low for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  3. Blend the mixture until smooth.
  4. Pour the hot sauce into clean, sterilized cans.
  5. Seal the cans and process in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes.

Notes

Store your sealed canned sauce in a cool, dark place. Once opened, keep it in the refrigerator and use it within a week. Reheat gently on the stove before serving. For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeƱos. Consider using fresh herbs for added flavor when serving.
