Cucumber Preparation
  • 4 medium medium cucumbers Washed and sliced into spears or rounds
Brine Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Adjust for sweetness level
  • 1 tablespoon dill seeds

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the cucumbers and slice them into spears or rounds.
  2. In a pot, combine water, vinegar, kosher salt, sugar, and minced garlic.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then let it cool.
  4. Pack the cucumber slices tightly into a clean jar.
  5. Add the dill seeds over the cucumbers.
  6. Pour the cooled brine over the cucumbers, ensuring they are completely submerged.
  7. Seal the jar with a lid and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before enjoying.

Notes

Refrigerator dill pickles are best enjoyed cold straight from the jar. They will last for about 2 to 3 weeks in the refrigerator.
