  • 1 cup White vinegar This will be the base for the brine.
  • 2 cups Water Adjust quantity according to jar size.
  • 2 tablespoons Salt Essential for brining.
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar (optional) Use for sweeter pickles.
  • 1 teaspoon Peppercorns (optional) For added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and slice the cucumbers.
Making the Brine
  1. In a pot, combine vinegar, water, salt, sugar, and any optional spices.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil.
Packing the Jars
  1. Pack cucumbers, dill, and garlic into jars.
  2. Pour the hot brine over the cucumbers.
Cooling and Storing
  1. Seal the jars and let them cool.
  2. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before enjoying.

Notes

Store dill pickles in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for several weeks. Experiment with different spices for unique flavors. Increase sugar for sweeter pickles or add red pepper flakes for spiciness.
