Ingredients

Pickling Brine
  • 1 cup white vinegar Use distilled white vinegar for best results.
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup sugar Can be reduced or skipped if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon dill seeds
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic Add more if you enjoy a stronger garlic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
Vegetables
  • 4 cups cucumbers, sliced Use pickling cucumbers for the best crunch.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the vinegar, water, sugar, salt, dill seeds, garlic, and peppercorns. Stir until the sugar and salt dissolve.
  2. Add the cucumber slices to the brine, ensuring they are well submerged.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.

Notes

Keep the pickles in an airtight container in the fridge; they can last for up to two weeks if properly stored. Use fresh cucumbers for the best crunch. Let them sit longer for a more intense flavor.
