Ingredients
  

Fruit Base
  • 1 can 20 oz crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 can 21 oz cherry pie filling
Cake Mix Topping
  • 1 box 15.25 oz yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted 2 sticks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional, for crunch
For Serving
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Dump the pineapple (with juice) into the baking dish and spread it evenly.
  3. Layer the cherry pie filling on top of the pineapple, spreading it out gently.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the fruit layer. Do not stir.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  6. If using, sprinkle nuts on top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  2. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Tips: Swap the fruit for blueberry or apple pie filling. Add shredded coconut for a tropical twist. Use a chocolate cake mix with raspberry filling for a chocolatey version.
