  • 1 can 21 oz cherry pie filling Chocolate fudge pie filling can be used for extra richness.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted 1 stick of butter.
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Optional, for extra gooeyness.
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans Optional, for crunch.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish lightly with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Spread the pie filling evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the pie filling. Do not stir!
  4. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  5. Add chocolate chips and nuts on top for texture and flavor.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
  7. Let it cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For variations, consider using different pie fillings like blueberry or raspberry. To enhance the chocolate flavor, you can mix in cocoa powder or sprinkle crushed Oreos on top before baking. For a slow cooker method, cook on high for 2–3 hours.
