Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Mix-Ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup toasted pecans, chopped

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and toasted pecans.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  2. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

These cookies can be served warm or at room temperature. Pairs nicely with milk or coffee. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag.
