Cupcake Base
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is softened for easier mixing.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cups milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp ground ginger
  • 0.25 tsp ground cardamom
  • 0.25 tsp ground cloves
Chai-Spiced Buttercream Frosting
  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp chai spices Can use a mix of cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the milk and dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices) until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool completely before frosting with chai-spiced buttercream.

Notes

To enhance your baking experience, don't overmix the batter to keep cupcakes light and fluffy. Consider adding a pinch of espresso powder to enhance the chai flavor.
