  • 4 cups Blackberries Use fresh, ripe blackberries for best flavor.
  • 1 cup Sugar Adjust according to your taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice Freshly squeezed is preferred.
  • 1 package Pectin Follow package instructions.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, combine the blackberries and lemon juice.
  2. Mash the blackberries with a potato masher.
  3. Stir in the sugar and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  4. Add the pectin and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  5. Boil for 1-2 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  6. Pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal.
  7. Store short-term in the fridge or follow canning instructions for longer preservation.

Notes

For best results: stir continuously while boiling to prevent sticking and burning. Ensure jars are sterilized.
