Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 large eggs Beaten
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 0.5 cups butter (melted) Warm, not hot
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your waffle iron per the maker's instructions. Grease if the instructions say to do so.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in one bowl and set them aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Stir the dry mix into the wet mix. Do not overmix.
Cooking
  1. Pour batter into the preheated waffle iron and bake as the waffle iron instructions say.

Notes

Serve waffles hot from the iron. Top with butter and syrup, fruit, yogurt, or whipped cream. For a savory option, add fried eggs, bacon, or cheese. Let waffles cool on a rack. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days in the fridge. For longer storage, cool fully and freeze in a single layer on a tray, then move to a freezer bag for up to 1 month. Reheat in a toaster or oven until hot.
