Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the gluten free flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, maple syrup (or honey), applesauce, and eggs until well combined.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the grated carrots.
- Pour the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
Baking
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool before removing from the pan.
Serving
- Once cooled, top with your choice of frosting and sprinkle with crushed walnuts.
- Serve warm with a cup of tea or coffee.
