  • Frosting of choice dairy free cream cheese frosting For topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the gluten free flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, maple syrup (or honey), applesauce, and eggs until well combined.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the grated carrots.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow the donuts to cool before removing from the pan.
Serving
  1. Once cooled, top with your choice of frosting and sprinkle with crushed walnuts.
  2. Serve warm with a cup of tea or coffee.
