  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Cake Ingredients
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well and spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the apples.
  4. Pour the melted butter over the cake mix, making sure to cover it as evenly as possible.
  5. If using, sprinkle nuts on top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the cake is golden and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For added crunch, consider adding oats to your cake mix topping. You can also try adding various fruits for a twist.
