Ingredients

For the latte
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 bags chai tea or 2 teaspoons loose chai tea
  • 1 cup milk dairy or plant-based
  • 1-2 tsp honey or maple syrup optional, adjust to taste
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon optional, for garnish
  • 1 stick cinnamon stick optional, for garnish
  • 1 slice apple optional, for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small pot, combine the apple cider and water. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Once the cider mixture is simmering, add the chai tea bag (or loose tea) and let it steep for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bag or strain out the loose tea.
  4. Pour in the milk and stir in honey or maple syrup if you’d like it sweetened.
  5. Heat gently until the mixture is warmed through, but avoid bringing it to a boil.
  6. Pour the Apple Chai Latte into mugs and garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, a cinnamon stick, or an apple slice if desired.

Notes

For a creamier texture, use milk with a higher fat content. Feel free to adjust the sweetness to your liking; a touch more honey can enhance the flavor. If you want a stronger chai flavor, steep the tea for a little longer. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat gently when needed.
