  • 1 large Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 large Onion (Finely diced)
  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour (For thickening gravy)
  • 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium preferred)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 large Onion (Sliced)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder

  2. In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form into 6–8 oval-shaped patties and let them rest.
Cooking
  1. Brown the patties in an oven-safe skillet for 3–4 minutes per side until golden, then remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions in butter.
  3. Add flour, stir for 2 minutes, then whisk in broth and cream.
  4. Nestle patties into the gravy, cover tightly, and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
  5. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve the patties hot with the creamy gravy spooned over them. Good sides are mashed potatoes, steamed green beans, or soft rolls to soak up the sauce. Cool the dish to room temperature and store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days. Reheat gently in the oven at 325°F or in a skillet on low heat until warmed through. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge before reheating.
