Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 16 oz elbow macaroni (uncooked)
  • 4 cups whole milk (evaporated milk works wonderfully too)
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (freshly shredded melts better) Avoid pre-shredded cheese for best results.
Optional Additions
  • 2 tablespoons butter Optional for extra richness.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder Optional for added flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Generously spray the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Pour the uncooked elbow macaroni directly into the prepared slow cooker.
  3. Pour all four cups of whole milk over the pasta.
  4. Layer the shredded cheddar cheese over the pasta and milk mixture without stirring.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on LOW for 2-3 hours, stirring once at the 1.5-hour mark.
  2. Once the pasta is tender and the cheese is fully melted, stir everything until creamy and combined.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

For serving, consider pairing with a fresh green salad or crusty bread. Optional toppings include fresh herbs or additional shredded cheese.
