- In a medium mixing bowl, add the entire container of sour cream.
- Sprinkle the packet of dry onion soup mix over the sour cream. If using, add the garlic powder now.
- Using a spatula, gently fold the mix into the sour cream until fully incorporated and smooth. Stir in the fresh chives.
- For the best flavor, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Give the dip a final stir, transfer to a serving bowl, and garnish with additional chopped chives.
Notes
This dip can be customized with different herbs like dill, parsley, or even bacon for added flavor. Best enjoyed fresh or stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
