  • 1 each spiral-cut ham (7-8 pounds), bone-in preferred Bone-in hams offer more flavor and moisture retention.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Generously pat onto the ham for caramelization.
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple slices with juice Use both slices and juice for moisture and flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Select a 6-quart or larger slow cooker.
  2. Remove the ham from its packaging and place it flat-side down in the slow cooker.
  3. Generously pat the brown sugar all over the exposed surface of the ham.
  4. Arrange pineapple slices decoratively over the top of the ham and pour the remaining pineapple juice around the base.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours, until the internal temperature reaches 140°F.
  2. Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before serving.
  3. Spoon the accumulated juices over the top for extra flavor.

Notes

For variations, substitute maple syrup for brown sugar or use cherry pie filling instead of pineapple. Adjust cooking time according to the size of the ham.
